The Wimborne Model Town, based in Dorset, is celebrating its 70th Anniversary.

The town, which opened in 1952, will see a number of new attractions this year to mark the occasion.

Around 65 volunteers have been working hard to not only refurbish the 1/10th size models of Wimborne, but also produce a smaller 1/100th scale model of the miniature buildings.

The 1/100th scale model, led by project leader Penri Jones, consists of 174 buildings made up of 405 pieces.

The pieces have all been 3D printed from Polylactide bio-plastic.

Alongside the 1/100th scale model, will be 1/1000th scale model which will be installed behind a protective screen within the larger model.

The 70th season has been celebrated by a number of people including Sir William and Lady Ali Hanham, Wimborne's Militia and Chris Brown, the town crier.
